    ...yeah, no recession

    But economists' focus on growth as the measure of how well off we are - particularly using the obsolete GDP gauge - puts them in another dimension from real people. Nearly 60 percent of Americans thought we were in a recession last December. And things have only gotten worse.

    Unemployment is up, the dollar is weak, inflation is soaring and the stock market sucks, so people aren't buying stuff. But, hey! If the administration can just hang onto their technically-not-a-recession theme for another six months, they can blame everything on Obama and the Dems.
