I have a rat ex-brother-in-law I dislike rather severely, though fortunately I don't have to see him anymore. And if anyone hurt my sister my first instinct would be to go for blood.

But better judgement should have prevailed here, and Gov. Palin should have had people who could have told her no. This was over the line.

Plus, if the sister and ex have children, how does Aunt Sarah explain what she did to them? He's still their dad. I'm careful not to bad-mouth the ex-BIL in my niece's presence, because he's her dad and she loves him, and I don't want to do anything to damage that relationship.

I don't think it's abnormal to feel the impulse she did.

      I think it's shameful--and criminal--to have given into it.

Any decent staff should have told her it was wrong--and at that point it should have led to her looking in the mirror... and then going back and telling her sister that the governor could not and would not do such things.

At this point?  She'd better plan on a new career.  After prison.
