but I have nearly lost my faith in congress to faithfully execute their duties.  Most importantly, to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America.
The ever growing list of severe systemic failures makes me wonder if the sacrifices borne by so many over the generations, (myself included as a 100% disabled veteran that has given everything my life excepted defending the ideals upon which our beloved republic was founded) were worth it if the "leaders" of today are content sacrificing these efforts upon the altar of the "sternly worded letter"?

I should take a break...perhaps I am taking all of this way too seriously..

I don't have faith in Congress. I do have "faith" in the people, backed by the reality that the people stand in the way of injustice enough that we do have a great deal of justice. Injustice like Rove's crimes buying him freedom are still the exception, even if those exceptions are so garish and even common that they look like the rule.

I sign the petition not just for the future, in which a jailed Rove depends on every little action against him. I sign the petition to protect everything I've believed in that's good about America, all the work I've put in during my life building and protecting what's good about it.

An extra 30 seconds to sign it is a tiny cost. Even the hour this diary will cost me is worth it. Even if just for the chance it will increase the chances of doing some justice. To Rove, or to one of his successors.

I spent 6 hours last Friday listening to that hearing. I got pissed. I got sad. I was so frustrated that I spent the weekend doing the research to prove to myself that they had to impeach. I wrote and wrote documents that support Elizabeth Holtzman.  I cried. I didn't know what to do with all the stuff I found, so I just save it and went on about my weekend.

This is all happening because they are at the end of their criminal behavior. If you think it's impossible, it will be. Have a little hope, cheer up and get your friends and family to sign and most importantly to call the HJC members today!

Please do it. We can take a little break when the vote is over.

        have hope..
It is the competition hope for the future has with realization of the past coupled with my knowledge of the human condition.
This reminds me of a story from Bill Moyers concerning the good wolf and the bad wolf.
In regard to all of this I am trying to feed the good wolf....
