have done to create a horse-race.

look media doest not care about who wins or loses the only thing they care about is attention grabbing headlines.

Obama blow out. is not attention grabber

obama ahead. is not attention grabber

Obama has a problem. grabs attention

    Obama lead reduced. grabs attention

    McCain on top. sells papers

the only way they can achieve that is by fucking with the party-identification and population dynamics.
    get use to it

    •  They care less about selling papers (10+ / 0-)

than they do ensuring the GOP wins.  They really have a vested interest in a McCain win and will print anything to swing the results or the perceptions of the polls.

I think you meant "get USED to it" in your last line.

    •  Dirt about McCain would sell too (7+ / 0-)

but I don't see them doing it. On the contrary, they continue, with a few exceptions, to cover for McCain's gaffes and attempt to bolster his candidacy whenever they can.

No, it's too one sided. If all they wanted was to sell papers/boost ratings, they'd be all over McCain for his long history of corruption and fake image as a maverick, whatever the hell that is. Dumps disfigured wife to marry trophy mistress/heiress, Keating Five, USS Forrestal, graduated 894th of 899, more flip flops than a Chinese shoe company, crashed 5 planes, and on and on and on... if this guy was a Democrat, do you think any of this stuff would be off limits to the press?

And yet they don't touch Grandpa John. They love the guy.

What's the difference between Vietnam and Iraq? Bush knew how to get out of Vietnam.
