  •  Yup. Our state is a strange anamoly. (4+ / 0-)

We elect Democrats to run the government here in the state, but we throw away our votes to the Republicans for Presidential purposes.

    Damned Reagan Democrats.

It's interesting, though. Only one Democrat has won the White House without winning Kentucky since 1960, and that was JFK.

Deep down, Kentuckians aren't Republicans. We're a blue state at heart...It's really a shame that we haven't combated the exploitation of religion and race as a factor here in Kentucky. I blame it on education, but then again, is there really anything else to blame it on?

    •  Loser candidates like Lundsford don't help (2+ / 0-)

As much as I'd love to get rid of McConnell, and I'll certainly vote for any Democrat over him, Lundsford makes Lieberman look good.

I can't agree that my fellow Kentuckians are Democrats at heart -- just too many fundamentalists to make that claim.

I'd take a lieberman over McConnell ANY DAY!!!

Don't worry about our fellow Kentuckians and their 'hearts"--let's just go for the votes to DITCH  MITCH--that's NOT only GOOD for KY BUT for the entire Country and the whole WORLD!!!

        DITCH  MITCH!!!!

There's nothing else that matters at this time!!!

but obviously many state democrats aren't so charitable towards Mr. Lunsford.  Particularly around Lexington, where Fischer actually beat Lunsford, the Democrat is having a lackluster showing.

1/20/2009 will mark the end of an error.
