It's early. We haven't even nominated anyone yet. If McCain wants to shoot his wad with fleeting, childish ads now, let him. Obama doesn't want to peak out in July. We have a long way to go. Think of this as the starting point of a long, slow crescendo.

Impressions of each candidate are formed throughout the campaign. Images of McCain are solid - those of Senator Obama are fluid since he is new on the scene.

here recalls Dukakis and Gore, both who were easily defined by the repubs--as was Kerry.

What makes BO think he's immune to redefinition by the repubs?

      •  I don't think (0+ / 0-)

you can compare Obama with Dukakis or Gore. Remember, Gore's big problem was that he tried to be the guy his advisors wanted him to be, instead of just being himself.

Lets stop trying to convince Obama to be something he isn't.

Trust me on this, people have been telling Obama that he has to get nasty from the very beginning...when he was 20 points behind Hillary. He wouldn't go there. He knows what he is doing. Have faith!

        •  Again , you're too confident (2+ / 0-)

People need to remember that it was the philly debate which derailed Hillary.

People need to remember that during that debate , everyone jumped on her and got aggressive.

Obama was forced to get more aggresive toward her and he did that...although he was very ineffective.

It was Edwards who connected heavy blows and derailed her.

I sincerily believe Obama would not be the nominee today if it wasnt for the Philly debate in which Hillary was painted as a flip flopper.

Obama did not win by just being the nice guy....He won because democrats got tough on Hillary.

Obama has got to start defining McCain....He cant run the same kerry campaign or he'll lose.

There's a difference between fighting back and being nasty. You can fight back with the truth.

        •  And why should I (0+ / 0-)

          'trust' you?

BO's just playing the same movie I've already seen over and over and over, not only at the national level, but the local level as well.

I'm not saying he has to be 'nasty,' but he cannot let the repubs define him.

BTW, I don't have much respect for what he did in the primaries regarding HRC.
