Detroit doesn't see that the oil companies are literally stealing their profits and destroying their companies?

I guess this is one way to get gas-fuelled cars off the road.

I guess they should have listened to the mandate of California to provide alternatively fuelled vehicles rather than paying off the lobbyists and convincing the EPA that "that is wrong thinking"

Way to go Detroit! They took the Republican route and ignore the laws or strike them down as invalid.

Let them all fold and reduce the amount of jobs available to Americans. Then finally, people may wake up to the fact that we are neck-deep in trouble.

Since I am shaking a middle finger...one to all of you that voted for energy de-regulation because it would "force competition" and "foster innovation"

That assumes that oil producers are COMPETITORS.

Laughing and crying all the way to the grave...

do you realize the supporting industries that will go under if the auto companies fold - this is serious - this will take leadership, not one turning their back.

        I do realize the impact.

Very few are even thinking of that or are not thinking Big Picture. Detroit could have fully funded research with their PAC money.

I know the hole this is going to make.

That is where the neck-deep in trouble inference comes from.

Nobody is paying attention to anything, until it comes back at the idividual.

THis will impact MILLIONS of Americans. It represents the collapse at one of our core industries.

        I understand.

I told you so IS Shallow.

I want Americans to stop being shallow and "me-istic" and get involved in America.

Convince me it is not self-inflicted at every point in the decision matrix?

    •  Your Gods at Toyota were against mandates too. (0+ / 0-)

      Just saying.

      •  And it was bad for them? (0+ / 0-)

Throw in with your competition in the "bad idea" so as not to tip your hand too soon.

<see previous comments in this post about Prius sales>

        A very calculated move.

Toyota is poised to survive and adapt.

The Japanese adapted techniques of warfare to business models. It seems to be working.

Not my Gods. I am an American and "My Gods" are MY business.
