in early school years. By senior year in high school I had lost the 'baby and adolescent' fat.

I'm 54 (female) now and have gone through several periods of being very slender, all the way to pleasingly plump.

I got the cruel fat remarks as a child. They gave me the permanent 'fat self-image'. But, I've also gotten plenty of criticisms during my adult slender years including 'stick insect' and 'bony ass'. Mostly these were from gals who were rather threatened by my appearance I guess???

Now I'm back to carrying a few extra pounds, and no one even takes notice. I'm finally at the age where I'm invisible. Hopefully people now value me for my mind!

    I LOVE your sig!!

When talking with friends who are on the heavier side and lamenting it.  I always say it's the same when seen as under weight (esp. male)and there would be something else if not our weight (anything to bring the 'other' down)!

But I also learned, no matter what objective impressions or honest compliments I could offer, the only thing that matters is what that image in the head is!  Not even counseling that a person looking for love just needs to find the people that like what they have and not be miserable or go without - 'cuz there really are people out there who do!  Hey, I have no problem if someone wants me because they fetishise the skinny! lol

      re sig. thanks ;-)
