    How's that?

If he sticks to it, which he won't, because he can't.

We're not leaving Iraq in 16 months. It's a mess that's going to require more than a year and four months to clean up.

But if there is a "compromise" that should be understood as such it's the Iraq one. Imo, no one will be able to clean this up in so short of time.

But what of the other "compromises"?

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world She didn't exist.

I WANT to support Obama wholeheartedly. I fucking cry when I look at all those people at his rallies. African Americans with REAL hope in their eyes. Kids. Latinas. Drag Queens. Old fucks like me. Fuck, I'm crying now just thinking about it. I see Al Rodgers' diaries, and I'm fucking sobbing at my desk. ( Jeebus. Just think of it. I'm going to vote for a Black Guy for President! You have no idea how surreal that is. )

Those are the people I don't want to be disappointed. I've been around way too long to expect too much. But those poor, happy bastards have expectations. And it's looking more and more like real change is not going to be one of those expectations that comes to fruition. Not just change from Bush, that's gonna happen, but the change they're expecting, I think, that we are better than the bullshit centrist policies that have guided us for so many years.

And don't tell me he's only saying "this" so when he gets in office he can do "that." Fool me once, fool me a zillion times, ya know. That ol' saw.

I don't want to fight with anyone here, and this soul-letting is so buried in the bowels of this argument,.... ah, who cares. It's out.
