  •  Bill's an excellent red state campaigner (4+ / 0-)

His tour of small town North Carolina was highly effective.

And if the Vice Presidency isn't worth a warm bucket of spit, where exactly does that put the husband of the Vice President?

...you put him in charge of the State Department.  You could undo the worst effects of Bush Diplomacy Deficiency Syndrome in 16... 20 months tops.

---- now they sit and rattle their bones and think of their bloodstone days...

Drawing flies?  He in fact did not help her performance in the small towns in which he campaigned.

He could definitely be helpful in some capacities, but he's really lost it in many ways.  I think he's pissed as hell that Obama came along.  In some ways, it reminds me of McCain - they just can't believe this guy has come along and thrown their plans off.

are a very slim slice of the democratic pie... and sometimes narrowminded... there's a big group of dems that are chomping at the bit for obama/clinton ticket... not here on dkos, i know that.

Clinton had his flaws but this type of black and white thinking about the Clintons, Carter, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry is precisely who they are preying on in the republican party.

Clinton was highly effective against the republicans which is why they hired a special prosecutor and spent 56 million going over every detail of his financial records dating back 20 years from his election. Could you withstand that investigation with not one illegal activity being found. MOst of us would not.

My thesis is that democrats consistently under estimate the power of the attack machine, and instead have been way too willing to believe unsubstantiated attacks, and spread them as if they were true. Bill Clinton was/is a highly effective politician. He like Obama is extraordinarily smart. A Rhodes scholar. He was extremely effective in one of the most hostile environments that I have ever seen a politician operate in. Perhaps he could have handled the hostility against him better, but the list above is proof of one political body after another that was ineffective in fighting the political machine. To this day, his balancing of the budget was an extraordinary feat even if he had accomplished nothing else.

Stop blaming the victims, stop buying their republican talking points (because you become as much a part of the Obama problem as the republicans when you do it.) Clinton was brilliant in handling foreign affairs. Every president makes mistakes, even the very good ones. So you can give me a list of his mistakes to prove your point, but when you look at the picture as a whole, when you compare him in a historic context with other presidents, he was hardly ineffectual or evil.

        Bushco...now that's a different story.

The greatest gift you can contribute to the goal of world peace is to heal.

      •  I LOVE how democrats shit all over (0+ / 0-)

their politicians when they prove to make human mistakes....

        wait, actually I hate that.

New Frame: McCain thinks he is entitled to the presidency, and will say anything to get what he thinks he is owed.
