    And it is a testament to the dedication of those biological scientists who have struggled with the lack of funding and the faux ethical barriers thrown up by the Bush administration.  Just think of how much faster and how much more could have been accomplished without those barriers.  How many more lives improved or saved.

    And then think about the battles that any ES cell therapy faces in the future. It will be a long time before these therapies become available to the public due to the necessity of carefully establishing the safety and effectiveness of these treatments.  But it will also be much longer than necessary due to all the bizarre political posturing that will accompany the effort to commercialize this technology. Bastards would rather see people suffer than permit the development of technology based on extremist ideological concerns totally bereft of substance.
