  •  Something I noted (none)
Last night, Cheney said something to the effect tht Kerry should watch out for Edwards because Edwards is ambitious, and contrasted that with himself.  Cheney seemed to imply that a Vice President Edwards might even want to run against a President Kerry in 2008

Cheney said that Bush CHOSE Cheney specifically because he had no aspirations to further office.  I cannot remember the last time a vice president ran against his running mate in an election (Adams v. Jefferson?).

This concerned me about Bush's character, that Bush is so INSECURE about himself that he would refuse to have a running mate that might want to run for the presidency later.

    •  Besides... (none)
Bush didn't choose Cheney. Cheney chose Cheney.

Don't you remember? Bush made a big show of requesting Cheney to find him a running mate, and Cheney solemnly surveyed the field of potential candidates and said, "Oh my goodness, well, the very best choice you've got would be... me. Surprise!"

If a landslide falls in the bit bucket... was there an election?
