    but honestly I think I would go mad if I did your job. The frustration and sense of impending doom would drive me nuts.

    I guess it's the job of the rest of us to get people to listen.

      for a living, thank goodness.  I do work in meteorology, but a somewhat different branch. My doctoral work was on climate, but the Asian Monsoon instead of polar climate, and certainly not on climate change, though there were applications.

      We all have to work to get others to listen, and stop being so selfish. It's very unfortunate America has been set up to be so dependent on the automobile and cheap energy generally. That decision and the related inertia/resistance to change will (and has) come back to bite us in the ass.
