  •  It is one thing to answer a poll (2+ / 0-)

question to identify conditions under which abortions should be restricted and it is another thing entirely to implement legislation to enforce it.  The questions should ask if the respondent believes that a woman and her doctor should be put in prison if the woman has a second trimester abortion.  Once that question is asked, then I will pay attention to it but these purely hypothetical questions call for answers that does not make the respondent really consider the consequences of their answers.

    •  If you're really going to ask a fair question (0+ / 0-)

it should concern the law. Americans WOULD support criminal penalties for late third term abortion by huge margins. They would not support criminal penalties for second term abortions for severe genetic defects. ETC ETC ETC. You're suggestion would really be nothing more than another setup designed to elicit a certain response.

The truth is we've got abortion wrong period. At some point it isnt a child and has no rights. At some point it is. Roe tried to make a compromise. A true solution would involve the requirement that society support and nurture all children born and support the parents. But that would be "welfare!" and thus evil in the eyes of the plutocracy. Children are only good you see if they are useful politically or hypothetically. ACTUAL children of course are an evil and a burden on our noble, selfless, benign plutocratic class.

I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever TJ
