  •  Funny the Oregonian (10+ / 0-)

made it sound today on the front page as if Denver is just crawling with unhappy Hillary supporters that are everywhere on the streets.  Probably other newspapers are doing that too.

The old white media owners are definitely in the tank for Saint McSame.

The only place where Republicans are anywhere close to responsible is in the dictionary.

I suspect the PUMAs will be crawling on the streets of Denver in a day or two, when their presumptive General tells them to stand down and return to their barracks.  The revolution is over.

      •  It was actually by Jeff Mapes (0+ / 0-)

usually a pretty fair reporter at the O

I'm sure the AP is spoonfeeding lots of this propaganda to newspapers though.

    •  PUMA demonstration (6+ / 0-)

20 Young Republicans, a Fox camera crew parading down the 16th Street Mall surrounded by thirty Denver cops on bikes.

      Spectators were overwhelming derisive.

    •  The article was put together by the AP (1+ / 0-)

AP is the press arm for the McCain campaign.  Those of us who live here in Oregon know too that the Oregonian is a paper (rag) in bed with the republicans.

I say it's time we added regulation of media back into law to prevent takeover by one party (republicans).

Maybe its time to get radical on their asses!

      •  I didn't get that impression from the article (1+ / 0-)

if it's the same one I read. (Under the headline "Clinton fans not yet sold on party unity".)

First, it appeared under the name of Jeff Mapes, an Oregonian staffer -- although at the end, they mentioned that the AP contributed some of the content. (Which may simply mean -- based on the diary entry I read yesterday -- was that he copied content from the wire service.)

Second, the emphasis of the story was on the Clinton supporters -- that they are still discontented (despite Hillary's explicit comments), that the McCain camp is trying to recruit them (putting Debra Bartoshevich before the cameras, that former Wisconsin delegate who was booted out of their group for announcincing that she was voting for McCain) -- & two paragraphs about "several women" in a riverside park who sound as if they were the PUMA people. (The article didn't call them PUMAs, but reading between the lines I would assume that's who they were.)

Maybe it wasn't the most objective article, but compared to how the Oregonian treated the Democratic party in the not-so-distant-past, it's a major improvement. (I bet that has something to do with the fact that their audience has moved politically to the left.)

    •  WaPo sure is (0+ / 0-)

Jesus, every article mentioned the tiny fringers as if it's some kind of fatal virus.
