...it would still be a no-brainer between Obama and McCain.  Obama did or countenanced some bad stuff towards Hillary Clinton, who was running for president and presumably could take it.  (She looks like she is doing OK to me, from yesterday's video.)  McCain has a long track record of going out of his way to do harm to anyone who isn't wealthy and powerful.  do I have to draw you a picture?

The reality is, I'm not voting for McCain.  I'm trying to fix my party -- the Democratic Party.  I want to see caucuses prohibited because they disenfranchise voters.  Check out Dr. Lynette Long http://www.lynettelong.com/... to see how voter disenfranchisement happened during the primaries:  http://www.lynettelong.com/...

I also want to see my party get back to the traditional Democrat core values of people first and respect for each other.

I am more of a true Democrat than any Obamabot who will resort to Rovian tactics just to win at any cost.  This is not the democratic (small "d") or Democratic Party way, or it wasn't when I joined the party in 1972 (my first opportunity to vote in a national election).

I think Clinton should have made their elimination a condition for her support, and for all I know and hope, maybe she has.  But low politics is otherwise known as politics, and since the purpose of politics is control of the government, I'm looking towards what Obama would do vs. what McCain would do.  At the risk of everything polite, I'll venture to say that even a blind woman can understand that.

As for what the Democratic party has meant, you joined in 1972.  That's the year they had to weld shut the manhole covers in Miami, because it was a given that competing candidates' supporters would try to wreck each others' communications in that pre-wireless age.  If anything, we've advanced.
