  •  Well, with hundreds of thousands of (10+ / 0-)

users and thousands of potential diarists, just how could negative diaries and comments have been prevented? You told us so, but so what?

    •  Progressives need to be aware (6+ / 0-)

when they adopt false reactionary memes, such as judgemental outrage at the private lives of their own politicians.

It's as though those Kossacks had learned nothing from the Clinton blowjob scandal: manufactured scandals to deflect from actual issues.

If we're not aware when we've adopted our oppressor's lies and are regurgitating them, then we'll continue to lose elections based on Kabuki and hissy fits.

    •  Of course, we don't vet anyone here. (3+ / 0-)

We judge the diaries and comments but there is nothing to prevent agents provocateur or moles from any number of places.

So, in retrospect, many of those dairies may have had legitimate concerns but some may not have been.

How interactive is AP with DailyKos? Do they just read or do they take a more active role? Do any IPs go back to AP?

AP is proving they have a much lower ethical stance than was thought and that their consideration for the news is tainted by political persuasion.

But can AP they take the criticism?

Are they still capable of being responsible?

The answer keeps coming up no.

In lieu of asking if, indeed, they themselves have crossed an ethical line, that the questioners are, perhaps, accurate, they attack the questioners, acting  much more like an embryonic Faux News or a foundling rovespawn than any ethical straight-up news organization.

This just didn't start with Fournier; there has been early situation problems with AP stories. When AP can't respond directly, they destroy their credibility.

So, it looks to me like we have another major news organization going over to the dark side; they have become corrupt in the ethical terms of news gathering and writing and their credibility is to be questioned at all times, in all stories. Period.
