Ferchrissake, why do they think all Washington DC is all Doric columns? Do we worship the Congress and the Supreme Court, too? Because their buildings look old and have columns.

This was exactly the rant I was making last night, at which my friends looked at me strangely. It was in sight of columns like that that the very concept of self-governance  was first imagined. Before then it had been all inherited kingships, dictators, and men calming to be gods.

Why do they think we study Ancient Greece to begin with?

Oh forget it. They can only think in terms of the Roman Empire and the Reich. Any columns must be about worship.
