When I saw it on Yahoo!, the article had this disclaimer:

Update:  After reading this article, the McCain campaign issued the following statement: "The authors quote four scholars attacking Gov. Palin's fitness for the office of Vice President. Among them, David Kennedy is a maxed out Obama donor, Joel Goldstein is also an Obama donor, and Doris Kearns Goodwin has donated exclusively to Democrats this cycle. Finally, Matthew Dallek is a former speech writer for Dick Gephardt. This is not a story about scholars questioning Governor Palin's credentials so much as partisan Democrats who would find a reason to disqualify or discount any nominee put forward by Senator McCain."

I do not remember ever seeing Democrats given the chance to get the last word this way.

bias.  That shouldn't surprise anyone.   If you're bright and capable, you either choose to pursue knowledge (which encourages a broad view of the world and promotes flexibility/multiplicity of objectives and solutions) OR you decide you want to use your gifts to pursue wealth....and then you have narrow views and become limited in the objectives and solutions you are willing to consider.

Sorry to be so simplistic...but that's how I see it working.  Or not working.

The point is, liberal bias doesn't make these historians does not render them "non-experts."   Right wingers assume EVERYONE lies and twists the truth to achieve their goals.  No...that's just Enron execs and their ilk.  Historians aren't like Enron execs.

it's a chill, isn't it. hard to believe, but oh it's bad being evil.

I AM living in interesting times: and Senator Clinton will be the liberal lioness in the Senate for decades to come.--colebiancardi
