I think McCain will get one or two points ahead this weekend.

Don;t be surprised if dailys for those days approach double digit margins and that could send the composite result to a a double digit lead for any one of those days.

It should start settling down by Thursday/Friday of next week.

In any case, I think we need to expect this, ignore it, and don't get freaked out.

if McCain had actually impressed last night. I don't think he sold any voters.  Palin excited some moderates possibly, made some soft leaners think, but if they then tuned into McCain, I don't see how he wrapped it up.

Recall everyone claimed Hillary could turn them but Obama had to close them. I think that's the same for McCain / Palin.

      •  I can't see how that's possible (1+ / 0-)

Yesterday wasn't a double digit lead (based on moving a 5 point lead to a 2 point lead with a likely good Obama day dropping off) and that's probably the height of Palin-mania.

Palin is going away for a week and the unemployment figures aren't good.  With one really well speech and otherwise disinterest, I don't see the room for a 15 point bounce.  Remember the well run DNC got about a 6-7 point bounce.

Ask McCain this: Name one position where your administration would differ from the Bush's.

That dropped off.  McCain may bounce into a lead, but it's not going to be a very big one.
