  •  Big Corporate Media Is Corrupt - Period (3.50)
Here is what Viacom's CEO Sumner Redstone had to say during a recent appearance before a gathering of corporate leaders in Hong Kong:

"I don't want to denigrate Kerry... but from a Viacom standpoint, the election of a Republican administration is a better deal. Because the Republican administration has stood for many things we believe in, deregulation and so on. The Democrats are not bad people ... But from a Viacom standpoint, we believe the election of a Republican administration is better for our company."

Balanced? Even-handed? Responsive to the public interest? No dog in the fight? What are you smoking????

    •  We should put massive pressure (4.00)
on Viacom to sell off their federally licensed properties. It is the height of corruption for the CEO of a federally licensed property to use said license to promote any candidate running for office. The license is a public trust. Viacom has violated that trust or at least severely hampered their credibility to uphold that trust. They no longer deserve the right to broadcast.

We're not scaremongering, this is really happening. - Radiohead
