  •  Congratulations, Fred! (7+ / 0-)

    I have a suggestion--

In addition to encouraging Kossacks to buy your book, what about encouraging them in some way to buy one for moderate/mainstream/at-risk church leaders?

    A couple of examples:

    1. Around 1981 Robert H. Schuller wrote what he thought would be his seminal work Self Esteem, The New Reformation (do I really need to point out the fallacy of comparison his pet issue with the manifesto nailed to the Wittenburg Door?). A contribution from a donor enabled sending at least a thousand copies to ministers across the country (I don't remember the exact quantity--but it was huge).
    1. There was a Reader's Digest story decades ago about a traveller eating at a rural New England cafe hearing customers at the cash register saying "and one for Olee". Turns out the town's school bus driver hiked for miles in a blizzard to get help for the stranded children and ended up losing her feet to frostbite. Calling "one for Olee" added the price of one's check as a donation for prosthetic feet for her.

Pardon the disparate analogies, but that's my ADD/Aspergers brain at work.

What about setting up a PayPal account to buy copies of the book to send to targetted clergy and lay leaders? Could Barry Lynn help with developing the list?

    Just a thought.

As always, thanks for carrying on the good fight.
