for your work here and at the NYTimes. ... no, we don't expect you to post solely on education, but when you do, people pay attention.  I appreciate that.

I'm just a classroom teacher, and just in the "lowly" arena of elementary education.  But I find that my voice counts for something, at least in my community.

You, and other education writers here at DKos, have inspired me to inject my voice into the local media.  I've been surprised to find so muchf positive response to my rants about the sorry state of our schools, in these days of NCLB and high-stakes testing.

Obama has not done all he could to propose real advances for our sorry US educational policy.  But perhaps Joe Biden and his fabulous wife, JIll (D.Ed.), will influence Barack to take a second, harder, look at serious education reform.

I will explore the NYT blog.  It's hard to believe that my small voice could be heard on that kind of national stage, but  I may give it a try.

I appreciate all you have done to advance the cause of education and teaching on this site.

    Mahalo nui loa.

are read by many - the editors often select certain comments to be highlighted.

If you get a comment in early (right after a column is posted) many people will read it.
