    I'm sorry, but at that point you're calling anything not absolutely crucial to sustaining life a drug.

    When you say "drugs" in common parlance, it means "drugs."

    As in narcotics.

    I'll let you get away with calling Alcohol a "drug," that's fine... even though the wording isn't quite right... but caffeine is stretching it.

    In any case, I've never been physically or mentally addicted to any of those things. I just never smoked, and the rest aren't hard to deal with for most people. Not all, but most.
