  •  NC Crew Chief Sounding Clarion Call (8+ / 0-)

We are not wringing our hands here in the Triangle of NC. In fact, we are more determined than ever to make a difference in this campaign.

After all, it is our campaign.

In our Change Crew meeting last night, we decided to place a humongous order through the Obama store to literally cover our precincts with yard signs and posters (for apartments).

The new Obama/Biden signage is available - as of today...

We have an enormous amount of energy and are reaching out to other areas of the state with assistance.

Remember, the polls in the NC primary greatly understated the results for Obama.

Don't get upset or depressed, get organized!

Stepping out in a few our my change crew meeting.
Bigtime voter reg and visibility this weekend.
I don't think these polls are counting the newly registered voters, we did well over 1K in the Raleigh area last weekend.

To quote Clinton, NO WAY NO HOW NO McCAIN/PALIN.

But yeah, the TRIANGLE margin has to be BIG for Obama to carry the state.

Don't give up on NC yet!  Gah, it's been a week, and the better pollers for NC (by which I mean the ones NC, with the best records of polling NC) are still showing a tight race).

For chrissake, Civitas, which is a Republican firm shows Obama having gained 3 points since their last poll.

Chill out, peoples!  Give the ground work its due, and give the polls some time to settle.

We came to play ball, not to concede the fucking game. I'm sorry for the profanity, but you give up pussys are sucking my energy. I attribute the recent disappointing poll results to the froth of "Palinmania", and I believe we will see it evaporate between now and Nov. Regardless, I, and many of my friends, are working twice as hard to GOTV, and to educate and enlighten prospective voters. One way to start is with your family. Make sure your mothers, aunts, uncles, sisters, brothers, etc. know that McCain/Palin means the end of Social Security. This is a powerful wedge issue with older voters. Privatization means when banks fail, people lose their life savings. Make sure they are registered, and take them to vote early. That is a big advantage here in NC. Volunteer to drive people to the polls on election day. You can talk to them on the way. Most folks respond well to some education on the issues. The Dean strategy really is working, its just going to take some time. The rethugs have been at this for 35 years. We need to double our efforts here. Thanks, Love, Peace, and Rock n Roll.

If every precinct in NC finds 10 new Democratic voters to register between now and Election Day, we win.  Period.

I got 7 in my precinct (SE Durham) today and plan to do the same tomorrow.  It's NOT that hard.

    •  Question (0+ / 0-)

Most of the stuff in the store is expensive. I noticed here in Durham that the poor neighborhoods have hardly any Obama signs. How can we get some of those signs to placed or given to the local community organizers, churches to place them?

My sign cast me $19 including shipping, it's OK as a donation but I understand many will not make that purchase.

with your crew and make bulk purchases.
NC vets for Obama took several hundres in $15 donations and purchased bumperstickers at 30 cents each.

That's exactly what we are doing.

We discovered that a block in the neighborhood was going to purchase items together, so we made a few more  phone calls and arranged a much bigger bulk purchase.

We are going to change this tide, aren't we!
