  •  Stupid question: do the newly registered Dems (0+ / 0-)

have to vote Dem, if they do vote at all.

This question applies to all states.

    I really don't know.

    It's the Supreme Court, stupid!

in the general.  I'm from NC and, unfortunately, North Carolina Democratic voters have voted Republican for President in the past.  However, the demographics are shifting a bit in the state with more 'northern' democrats coming in, which may dampen this pattern.  Also, I think that the 'new' voters being registered Democratic may be more apt to vote Democratic for President (at least based upon my experience registering voters in Duham, NC - in a relatively liberal pocket of NC).  We registered a lot of new voters before the primary - and NC went for Obama even though the polls had him down 15 points, so I am trying not to read too much into the polls now. However, we still have a lot of work to do - registering and then making sure all these people get to the polls to vote.

More and better Democrats -- electees and electors
