I once found myself on the bus with a homeless guy in obvious respiratory distress.  No one would even look at him.

I finally asked him if he was okay, and he said no, he couldn't breathe.

I got the bus driver to stop by Roosevelt Hospital (it's tough to get NYC bus drivers to stop anywhere but at a designated bus stop), and took the guy in there.  Everyone on the bus, who'd been so studiedly oblivious before, now offered me encouragement.  I was pissed: why hadn't they done anything?  The guy had been there since before I got on: no one was willing to help him.

Good for you: you saw a problem and took action.  Not everyone does.

The thing I always say when people praise this kind of action -- not to take anything away from it -- is that it should be the norm, not the exception.

    Ya done good, Praxx.
