  •  If we can afford it now, why wait? (0+ / 0-)

It's not like it will be a distraction for private industry that is focusing on mobile power since fusion won't be mobile power unless you put it on a ship at sea or in space.

    •  distraction (0+ / 0-)

We can't afford it and we haven't been able to for a while, it's only now that it begins to sink in.

      •  You could buy 9 ITERs for the AIG bailout. (0+ / 0-)

It's less than 10 billion USD, a drop in the bucket compared to a global GDP of over 50 trillion USD.

You keep invoking "distraction" as if it has some non-contextual merit. Do you think Greenies are really that easily distracted?

        •  again, DISTRACTION (0+ / 0-)

Nine ITERs are useless - the AIG bailout would get most of the 32k miles of rail we need electrified done.

Solutions must be vetted. We don't have time left for cockeyed experiments that emotional please but fail to deliver.

          •  Fail - we don't know until we experiment. (0+ / 0-)

Which is the problem with your comments. You're saying one thing is a distraction from another proposal that is itself unproven.
