    Actually her Pentecostal tradition looks "fundie" to us, because it says the same things about following what fundies consider the "fundamental" teachings of the Bible, but they have a whacky mystical/emotional side to them that a lot of Baptist-type fundies look askance at. It's like the relationship between Hasidim and generic ultra-Orthodox; to us non-Jews and less-than-ultra-Orthodox Jews (I think that includes most of "us" here) they look the same, they keep the same mitzvot etc, but only Hasidim would go around saying their leader is the Messiah and didn't really die or is about to return from the dead (and that's the Lubavitcher, who in other ways come across as less whacky than other Hasidim...)

    When civilizations clash, barbarism wins.

      for about a dozen years. Saw all walks of Judaism that I'd never been exposed to in the burbs of Massachusetts.
      There are fundies in every religion. But I don't want any of them near any office of government, no matter what the country (especially my own).
