and im white and have lived my entire life in south georgia. sigh.

    •  No you don't. I've lived in South Carolina -- (0+ / 0-)

and found great white people and great black people, and some not so great of both.

Rick Riley you can have -- met him and didn't enjoy it, but otherwise it was quite an experience, with some fantastic people. It takes them a while to forget Sherman, and some fairly silly notions about white superiority, some are not doing much to prove that claim, others are making amends.

    •  Why Pick on "White Southern People"? (0+ / 0-)

When there are plenty, plenty "rednecks" in places like Michigan, and Ohio and New Hampshire, and, lets not forget that bastion of liberalism, New York.

My brothers and I where born and raised in the Metro New York City area. In the 1970's they, along with many of my childhood "homies", moved to Georgia. To this day, they still cannot understand how I can take living in New York "with all those rednecks".

I tell them that when GA grows some mountains and develops a real winter, then I'll consider headin south.

... and Obama has a speech he gave in 2002
