  •  So how, again, do you get troops home from Iraq? (0+ / 0-)

    Where, exactly, do you send them?  Have you never lived anywhere near any of the hundreds of active duty military bases we have in the U.S.?  When the troops aren't deployed overseas, they're deployed here at home, and always have been.  It's called "coming home."  A lot of them even look forward to it.

      I think there is a world of difference between troops STATIONED in the US (i.e. on bases and used on federal land) and being DEPLOYED in the US (i.e. to do law enforcement - crowd control - against US citizens.  

      And apparently those who enacted the Posse Comitatus Law agreed.

      That has been common since WWII.

      Assigned specifically for deployment in U.S civil emergencies, no, not normal.
