    the House Republicans who vote no will benefit from this, and possibly win reelection.

    A yes vote is political least a yes vote to a 700 billion bail out bill that the public is increasingly sick over.

      for some sort of fix?  When the Dems negotiating this are getting significant changes from the original Paulson proposal?

      Let me tell you what the public will be sick about: 4 or 5 days of 100+ point drops in the Dow, that will devastate people's savings for retirement, at the very least, and people will be scared to death and screaming for action.

      But a lot of people here don't seem to care about people's lives and futures being destroyed in all of this.

        Yes 74% support some sort of fix, but if the big 700 billion dollar bailout happens, you can bet that it will be spun as a big government socialistic power grab. Republicans don't care if they sink Bush along the way, either. This plan is not that popular.

        So, we need "some sort" of other fix.
