I know our federal races (LaRocco and Minnick) have gotten some good play here, but the state-level races are important, too. Right now, the legislature is dominated by Republicans who want to pave over open space, and who refuse to give us a chance to invest in public transit.

Idaho is one of only four state, max, that do not have a dedicated source of funds for transit, and it's a huge problem, especially in the Boise metro area of a half-million people, but also in smaller cities. Last year, the legislature also voted for a huge tax break for Areva, the French nuclear company, but Democratic efforts to secure living-wage jobs and take the sales tax off groceries can't even get a hearing.

We seriously need to tip the balance!
