scheduled to go to Nowhere Canada to supply gas to the incredibly polluting oil sands project.
     In addition:

1.the gas will not go to consumers in the US or Canada

    1. The gas will also go to a new Compressed Natural Gas, CNG terminal in Alaska which will ship gas to asian markets.
    1. In some campaign moment, McCain was on tv saying that the pipeline, credit to Gov Moonbat, would go to provide "Clean energy to the lower 48"...which was a lie.

     Thanks for the update.

(proud that I think that a couple of weeks ago I invented that..well....obvious knock on Governor Moonbat about the pipline , in a bunch of comments, heh)

While I'm not clear on the details of Murkowski's pipeline deal, IIRC it was a different route that would have supplied gas to the lower 48 (and perhaps have avoided Native American lands.

Also, as I understand it, one of the first things Palin did as Governor was to propose and get passed legislation configured so that only one company, TransCanada, could legally qualify.

The extraction of oil from tar sands is extremely energy intensive and might burn (I've heard) gas at something like three times the rate that it would be in heating homes and businesses across the northern tier of the continental US.  But the pipeline will provide gas to the tar sands project at a much lower cost (even amortizing the $30-something billion in construction costs) than what it's costing now, thus making the operation significantly more profitable.

No one should be surprised by any of this, nor by the fact that the Legacy Media hasn't picked up on it.  Apparently there's no obvious illegality or easy to explain scandal in it (and no sex) so, y'know, why bother?

Some folks prefer a map and finding their own route. Others need someone to tell them where to go.

I based this diary on the Newsweek article, but in past articles I've read and I would have to hunt for said that the TransCanada route will not reach the lower 48. And I believe you're right from what I remember reading, and agian I'd have to look it up, the Murkowski pipeline deal would have.

McCain was for deregulating Wall Street before he was against it.

There are 3 pipeline routes, one goes offshore from Prudhoe BAy to the Mackenzie River Valley, travels south thru the valley to ALberta.

This route linked below follows the TAP and then cuts east to ALberta

While the 3rd route (Denali)just follows the TAP to Valdez.

Good to see you sir, how are you ?
