  •  The headline of that article just cracked me up. (7+ / 0-)

What planet are these people living on when their supporters need to be investigated for making death threats against their opponents and yet those opponents can be accused of running a dirty campaign?

Just what is their definition of "dirty?"  Dirty enough to warrant a stay at a luxury resort in Dana Point that costs $443,344 of government bail-out dollars?

The Republican handbook IS 1984.  They quite literally say exactly the opposite of reality, on purpose.  They engage in doublethink and doublespeak all...the...time.  They purposely equate love with hate, war with peace, black with white, up with down.  We sometimes joke that 1984 is their handbook.  That joke is considerably closer to the truth than we'd like to believe, methinks.

Imagine the most effective argument your opponent could make against you, and trump up enough "evidence" to lay it on him first.

Then, if they do try to counter, it looks like whining.

It may not win you any votes, but it deprives your opponent of their most effective attack. Sort of like drawing out trump in pinochle.
