  •  Interesting that he's outperforming Kerry (5+ / 0-)

Among whites....goes to show really how poor of a candidate Kerry was.

and the economic collapse has changed everything.

Independents and moderates are reassessing and realigning in this election towards the Democratic party.

The realignment is breaking the Republican's grip on the south.

    •  Kerry put no money into MS (5+ / 0-)

Virtually no ground game. ZERO advertising.

The Memphis market has been blasting ads for nearly 45 days now. I was in Jackson, MS, last weekend and it's being heavily saturated, too.

As for the ground game, while not robust, it is noticeable.

The 50-state strategy is paying off -- maybe not in wins in 2008, but it's laying the groundwork for the future.

    •  He is going to get more that 15% whites (2+ / 0-)

THAT is the REAL reverse Bradley effect downhere, I work in a lawfirm, which has about 40 employees, all white except for a black attorney, and I can guarentee that white people down here are "afraid" to tell a pollster or anyone that they are voting for Obama.  I am the known "lib" at the firm, and I have had several prominent republican attys, privately tell me Hush hush, they are voting for Obama.

Obama/Biden '08 Because my daughter is one year old.

a POOR candidate. He ran an OK but not great campaign. He was going against a still fairly popular incumbent and made one critical mistake by not fighting the swiftboat smear. He let them package him into the "Dukakis in a tank" frame that is he let them ridicule his record. But he was a good candidate and without complicit fascist media he would have cruised to victory against the retard.

      •  Kerry was also underfunded (1+ / 0-)

He and Gore did not have the $ to compete all over the map.  And when they focussed on key states the R's focussed on those states and the others.

The other big assett is Obama has better surrogates and there possibley 3 Republicans left with any popularity.  Back in 04 they were still trotting out Powell, Mama Bush, mccain and a handful of the moderates to shore up votes as needed.  Now all they have left is Laura Bush and any in state Rs.

        •  Kerry was NOT underfunded, but Gore was. (0+ / 0-)

When I last looked up, Kerry and the DNC spent about $500mn to roughly the same by Bush+RNC.

To the contrary, Gore+DNC spent under $150mn compared to Bush+RNC well over $200mn (likely close to $250mn).

          According to Rove, recently:

Money alone, however, won't decide the contest. John Kerry and the Democrats outspent Mr. Bush and the GOP in 2004 by $121 million and still lost.
          link

I think he's including outside money raised/spent (by groups such as "ACT" here). I'll need to verify them, But I am quite sure about my own Kerry+DNC estimates above.

Go Obama/Biden! Throw the bums out!!
