    To run a query on the server?

    if "to" or "from" == "Todd_Palin";
    then get emails;

    Heck, in most mail systems, you only need to log into the server, click a button, type the name of the person whose emails you want, then click "go" and the system does all the work for you. Now it's possible he has enough thousands of emails that it would take the system hours to collect them all, but the programmer could, say launch it right before lunch, go out, eat, come back, check to make sure it's still running, then go do his real job for a few hours, come back when it's done and save it onto a CD or thumb drive.

    What a bunch of weasels.

    Beware the everyday brutality of the averted gaze

      of hooey.  The reason they are making it seem to be an huge, expensive, incredibly labour intensive chore, is they simply don't want to let anyone know what kind of crap they've been up to.  At least not till long after the election, and then they can find some other way to sweep everything under the rug.

      There needs to be a law put in place about this stuff, to ensure that most government business is conducted through government e-mail accounts.
