What I like about Oregon is how unDC, unNY, unCorporate, and FAR AWAY it is.

When I go east I am just stunned by the corporate fast paced uptight culture.  When I go to LA I feel sickened by the traffic and the pace and the movie industry culture.

Nobody ever thinks about Oregon.  You tell your relatives in New Jersey that you live in Oregon and they get this vacant look that tells you that (1) they have no mental image of it at all and (2) they can't imagine what a Jew is doing in a place like that.

When the nuclear war comes I find it hard to believe that anyone will drop a big one over the port of Portland.

We in Portland live in the largest non-existent city in America.

We wear a cloak of invisibleness.  We see others, but no one sees us.... they see LA, SF, mountains, trees, and Seattle.   Cool trick!
