  •  Only because Al Gore let it... (0+ / 0-)

be an albatross...had he made an historic speech like Obama did about the albatross around his neck (rev Wright) he would have won by a landslide and the convention was too little too late...no polling data would tell us what would have happened if he had stepped up to the plate like Obama did who had a huge albatross around his neck rather than campaigning in fear of a personal failing as if he helped Monica with the blow*ob...personally...The Al Gore of today would have done that...

    •  The problem was the lying on tape: (0+ / 0-)

Rove would've played this as part of a campaign ad:

had Clinton become front and center in Gore's campaign. That was in fact their plan B (there was apparently a BBC movie about the Rove/Bush strategy on this in Sep/Oct'2000 which was not allowed to be aired in the US.)

Gore played it just right. He gave Clinton praise at the convention and otherwise kept him and his personal unfavorables and the baggage of the tape at a healthy distance.

      •  So what... (0+ / 0-)

The American people would not have cared...do the American people care about Rev Wright...no that is because of bold leadership and not being afraid of the polls and tackle a problem directly like the leader Barack Obama did on his potential albatross...

And putting that video up again does not help your case...
