  •  FT quite different to The Economist, and neither (6+ / 0-)

    can so easily be classified as centre-right.

    As a regular reader of both I would say that actually the FT is less insistent than The Economist on minimising the regulation of markets and trade. FT is more pragmatic than TE, and when it comes to party politics and welfare issues the FT tends much more to the centre than TE. However, in coverage of overseas politics and economics, FT is if anything more conservative than TE.

    On the other hand, TE has much better coverage and insight into technological change, its effects on firms and markets, and its sources of profitability. They also tend to be more open to new and interesting ideas, EXCEPT when it comes to regulation of markets.
