  •  Pennsylvania (4+ / 0-)

The whole "we have a shot at winning in Pennsylvania" is a ruse. The Palin / McCain campaign knows it's over. They simply cannot compete in all the states they'd need to win in order to get to 270. Pennsylvania is offered up to their dim-witted, knuckle-dragging base as a lure to get them to the polls so down ballot republicans will have some chance of survival. Pennsylvania is also about crafting a theme for the talking heads on the TV to mindlessly regurgitate so the race seems more competitive than it actually is. Fact is, Obama could theoretically lose Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida and still come up with enough electoral votes elsewhere for a win.

republicans have done more damage to America than any terrorists could ever hope to.

What are they going to do?  Just give up?  They have to pretend to campaign for another 6 days.

This is the final end point for all that talk about McCain's "honor".  It would be fitting if he spends the last day of the campaign in Centerville or Gettysburg, because he represents something small and evil and hopefully dying in American politics. McCain's "honor" reminds me of the "honor" of those who fought for slavery.

Throwing up his hands and quitting isn't honorable; all he can do to perpetuate his self-imposed myth of "honor and sacrifice" is to keep lying and smearing in a state he can never win.  So let him peddle his bullshit in Gettysburg while we elect the first black president. Let him make his petulant, small-minded, mean little concession speech and make room for some real oratory.
