Rich Lowry to that list as well.

Little starbursts going off inside his pants and all.

A foolish consistency (staying the course in Iraq) is the hobgoblin of George W. Bush.

    •  And Fred Barnes. (0+ / 0-)

He was on one of those cruises, and Jane Mayer's article mentions him too.

The influence of the [executive] has increased, is increasing, and ought to be diminished.

      •  What cruises are that? (0+ / 0-)

I really have a disliking for Rich Lowry and Fred Barnes, not to mention Kristol, but, then again, I don't like to waste too much time even thinking about them, but I do want to know what cruises you are referring to. Thanks.

There were two cruises last summer sponsored by right-wing organizations. One, I think, was the Weekly Standard, hence Kristol, and I can't remember who sponsored the other one.

Palin hosted a luncheon for the bigwigs at the Governor's Mansion (first time she had been there in ages, I presume) and took at least one group on a helicopter tour.

          Kristol was smitten.

exotic places which feature educational lectures and ecological tours.  Kristol and Barnes arrived in Alaska on one of those and were entertained in the Governor's mansion and were smitten by her hospitality and, very likely, by her uncanny ability to mirror whoever she's engaging with.  When someone sounds just as smart as you and repeats your pearls of wisdom, it's hard to ascertain that there's no 'there' there.  So, the fountains of neocon ideology were transfixed by Miss Sarah and thought they'd discovered a soul mate.  And then McCain fell into the same trap.
