media "forum" or as media calls it, an "informational" from a candidate, was during the 1992 election.  Most remember it as Bush v Clinton, but I remember Ross Perot.  It sealed my vote for Ross Perot as it did for many others I know.

In 2008, I didn't need this media forum from Barack Obama, but I loved it nonetheless.  It simply reinforced my support.  In my opinion, this half hour of television was more designed for reassuring those who might not support Obama, or those who are still "undecided" (although I cannot even fathom the undecided at this point).

Obama, God Willing, and I am not big on religion, will be our next President of the USA.  There will be many people who do not vote for him.  This half hour might be more designed for those who weren't sold.  Obama is just like us, and he has people who are just like us supporting him.  People who work hard, have struggled, are struggling, Americans.

Yes, media is calling this an "informational", even Olbermann, and by calling it such, it might minimize the efforts and effect; but that is the media's job imho.  But, from a personal aspect, I just felt it was a half-hour of television time that Americans needed, whether you support Obama or not.  This man will be our President (from my lips to you know who...).
