mcsame is surging and is tied in PA and everywhere else. I know this is a fact, because i heard it on teevee.

frustrating watching the Obama campaign wasting time and resources in a State that is solidly locked up.

I'm disappointed in this overly cautious approach. It's as if they are letting McCain decide which States to campaign in at times.

It's pretty much the only blue state McCain is campaigning in.

        And McCain must win it.

        So you spend there. Period.

You do not let your opponent determine the battlefield. Obama need not have wasted his resources defending a State McCain cannot win.

Locked or not, Obama's camp can't just ignore a state while McCain is throwing most of his effort and resources into flipping it.  It's crucial, and McCain has to win it to have a shot at all at this point.  Gotta spend the money there like it or not.

        •  Yes, actually Obama can ignore McCain's thrashing (0+ / 0-)

about. It's a confused old man trying to make a valiant last stand before he soils himself.

Obama should have gone to real swing States like IN, GA, even AZ as is now evident [and many people predicted would be the case, that even AZ would be in play].

McCain would have been FORCED out of PA to respond.

The strength of that action would have sealed McCain's fate even more so; McCain would have been seen to be responding the Obama's strength as he as forced to defend where Obama went. Instead, we have the stronger candidate allowing the weaker candidate to set the playing field.

And anyone familiar with tactics knows that's a dangerous game to play.

          •  Okay (0+ / 0-)

It's not that I don't see your point, but I do think you are making way too much of it.  I would add though that now McCain's only path to victory involves flipping PA, so there is no way of "forcing" him out of the state, no matter where else he is challenged to respond.  Giving up on the state means conceding and that's just not going to happen (why does McCain care if he narrowly defends and carries, say, IN and still loses the election?).
