victims left in LA.  The 9th Ward was decimated, and many have not returned.

    •  Not True (0+ / 0-)

People are living many families to one home on sofas and mattresses.  You all in the rest of the country will get to try this out as the economy continues to tank.  Saves lots of money, 1 housekeeper to take care of the old and the young, everybody else works and pools their resources for expenses.

    •  just wondering ..... do you people making these (0+ / 0-)

kinds of statments think New Orleans is all there is to Louisiana.  Get a Map

      •  No, I don't. Don't presume to know what I think. (0+ / 0-)

If Louisiana was so invested in making a difference, the poll numbers would be way different.  The entire state was affected by Kartina, and I know that a lot of folks never came back.  The reason I know this is because I work in residential property management, and a lot of displaced people ended up in Sacramento, where I lived and worked at the time.  Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a ballot initiative here in CA to help defeat, kthx.

vote for Obama should be discounted or looked down upon.  I and many many others support Obama, but I think the attitude that you are taking is exactly what Obama is running against.  Just because it is a "red" state does not Louisiana and it's people deserve to be treated any less respectful.  Get a map.  New Orleans and katrina victims did not make up the whole state, not nearly.  I am tired of newspaper readers, television watchers and "passers by" presuming they know more about our state than we who have been here all of our lives. By the way... one reason that Bill Clinton won in this state 2X is because he campaigned here.  More candidates should campaign here and stop assuming they won't win it. Not only did Bill Clinton campaign here, he delivered the graduation message at one of our major HBCU's.  Which by the way is something no other president has done; even white presidents have not attended any white universities in Louisiana.

          •  That's why it's wrong to assume. Go back and (0+ / 0-)

read it again.  I didn't disrespect anyone.  I just know that when your president is flying over your state looking at your flooded streets and homes, then sends no help, and no help comes from your own government, it's time to kick everyone out.  Is that easy?  Of course not.  But I feel that the entire state should be mobilised, if it hasn't, to do all in its power to change things.  I've barely seen a thing come out of LA in the last few months, so forgive me if I sound misinformed to you.  I've heard plenty about Georgia, North Carolina, Colorado, and nary a peep from LA.  So, what's the deal?
