Iowa - Our numbers in Iowa have seen a tremendous surge in the past 10 days. We took Obama's lead from the double digits to a very close race. That is why you see Barack Obama visiting the state in the final days, trying to stem his losses. It is too little, too late. Like many other Midwestern states, Iowa is moving swiftly into McCain's column.

The latest poll is only 2 days old and it shows Obama up 15 points.  538 is projecting a 12 point win and there are plenty of polls this last week to support it.  How can they claim Iowa is now lost?

Davis does not actually claim that Iowa is now in the single digits. He merely states that it was in the double-digits but now it is close, which could mean that they are now calling a double-digit deficit "close". It is the Republican theory of relativity.
