    Just wanted to add my remembrance of watching TV footage of the Philippine people in 1986,   battling the corrupt police forces of Ferdinand Marcos so they could cast their ballots for Corazon Aquino.  They LITERALLY put their lives on the line for the right to vote, to get rid of Ferdinand and his shoe-worshipping wife Imelda.  

    This is why I get so frickin' pissed at Americans who "can't be bothered ", especially when they are the ones who squawk the loudest once the election's done.  

    Electing a Republican is like hiring a carpenter who thinks hammers are evil.
