  •  This just pisses me off. (3+ / 0-)

    A) Has the Obama campaign been notified? What are they doing?

    B) This seems odd to me given the way the Obama field and volunteers system is organized.

    C) If legit, I wonder whether people are just that stupid to think that Obama will magically become elected on Tuesday without actually going out and working for it.

    D) This problem must have been present por noticeable weeks ago. There must have been recruitment problems that were not addressed. Again, this seems rather odd for the Obama field organization.

I will say this -- the person who posted this on Daily Kos should be calling the volunteer list he or she developed for this race over the past few months and lighting a fire under them to get out and work.

just like the governments they hope to run someday. Campaigns make strategic decisions about where to deploy those resources to get the most bang for their volunteer buck. They have extensive databases that they can use to analyze each precinct and determine where they should send their volunteers to increase the likelihood that the volunteers will succeed in contacting IDing and/or swaying voters, then succeed in a GOTV effort come election day.  If they expect a good return on their investment of volunteer time, they will dedicate the resources. Rest assured, that if the Obama campaign is dedicating resources to other precincts, there is a good reason.

Of course, having been the organizer who got shortchanged in that calculus in the past, I can sympathize with the diarist. It's no fun to watch boxes full of walk lists sit in your HQ unwalked because the bulk of the volunteers are being utilized in other precincts.
