  •  I'm so sick of initiatives that I'm inclined (7+ / 0-)

to ban them except under extraordinary circumstances.  I don't know what those would be, but I'm sick and tired of initiatives that work against the public interest and/or work to destroy equality and our tax base (like Prop 13 back in the 70's).

I no longer sign any initiative unless I'm thoroughly educated about what its purpose is.

    •  Would you have banned the CA initiative (0+ / 0-)

that legalized medical use of marijuana?
How about the one that banned use of "bear claw" traps for hunting?

...a $20 per hour minimum wage for petition circulators.

That is, either the circulators are volunteers, or you pay them by the hour at a rate high enough to discourage folks from buying their way onto the ballot.

(I don't think you can simply say "no paid circulators" under case law, but I see no reason why the state can't establish a minimum wage.)
