Punditry, CW and MediaKnowzall has this down as a tight to the wire race. It never was anything of the kind - and the pollsters are having a hard time reconciling their findings with what's actually going to take place on Tuesday...

Zogby is interesting now, as he has Bush slightly ahead on a nation-wide scale. What the GOP votesuppressors have failed to realize, is that their efforts are rallying holdouts, while fortifying those who would vote Dem, but have been hedging their call for Kerry. In addition, a lot of Republicans must be getting disgusted with what Rove and his crew are up to, both in Florida and elsewhere.

On top of that, Rehnquist falling ill now made the selection of judges to the Supreme Court a topic of discussion across dinner tables. Watch what that will do to the Womens' votes.

I think we do need to call CBS/NYT on this if this poll does exist.  Polls can influence public opinion, and people need to know that at least by one measure, Kerry is up!  Does anyone have contact info?
        •  Yes, for crying out loud (4.00)
When this happens for Bush, we hear about how the president is "surging" in the polls.  So when it happens for Kerry, what?  It must be a mistake?  Please let's call them on it.

I think the big news about "news" story after the election is going to be how all these news organizations missed all the signs and believed (or pushed) their "past model" polls. It's biased and irresponsible, much like the pre-invasion coverage on Iraq.

There is every sign of a Kerry surge, a win and a possible landslide.  You can't just rely on opinion polls.  You have to look around and surmise--the reversal in newspaper endorsements, the huge new voter registration, the thousands of people volunteering for poll watching, the huge unvetted crowds for Kerry, the low Bush approval ratings, the heavy early voting.  I'm sure some reporters smell it,  but what's going on?  Their editors won't let them write it?

Dark thought:  The NYT/CBS is factoring in how many votes the thugs are going to supress (and diabolically don't want to trumpet their poll, so as not to draw attention to the huge brewing scandal in FLA and elsewhere)?

Anway, I'll never forget the 1% Bush "surge" I read in some article headline a while back.  Disgusting.

GOTV- I know we can multitask but please focus even the energy that you have for multitasking on GOTV - nothing else a few days from an election matters other than this and prevention of suppression of the vote (and in terms of fish to fry- this isn't as important as preventing challenges to actual votes).

      GOTV. GOTV. GOTV.

Come one, Gallup never witholds their polls, and they are obviously balanced. CBS are pussies, they are walking on eggshells cuz of Dan Rather and viacom supports Bush anyway.
